Who'd have guessed that with all the HD features and processing power of the Xbox 360, we'd still get excited about the coming of a couple arcade games that predate dual core processors by a few decades? During a media briefing today in Japan a representative from Namco announced that two more arcade classics, Pac-Man and Galaga, are heading to Xbox Live.

Like the other classic games already available on Microsoft's online service, both titles will be carbon copies of the original, featuring all the same timings and patterns. Global scoreboards will also be supported so you can finally prove to your girlfriend in Canada that you really did beat Billy Mitchell's all-time high score in Pac-Man.

No official announcement regarding a release date has been made, but once we know, you'll know.
