"The Rock is awesome." These immortal words were uttered by Gears of War movie screenwriter Chris Morgan in an interview with MTV's Movie Blog recently who apparently thinks Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would be a great choice to play the lead role of COG madman Marcus Fenix.

"There's a genuine actor. Not only can he play the tough guy, but he can also play the nuanced, sensitive funny sad moments as well. But finding that guy is incredibly difficult."

While Johnson could easily embody the larger-than-life physique of Marcus Fenix, Morgan maintains that the size of the actor is less important than his dramatic chops.
We're inclined to agree. Early last week, Morgan was found saying that the movie project was "looking incredibly good." No trumpet blowing there, then.

Might need to "grow a pair" in order to nail the role of Fenix.

Bryn says: The Rock would be a great choice, I have to agree. Aside from the Doom movie (the less said about that, the better) The Rock's had some great action flicks and has the kind of personality (not to mention that steely stare) that could lend itself well to the role of Fenix.

The more important question that I need answered though is who the crap is going to play The Cole Train? Someone get James Earl Jones on the horn, stat.
