Rockstar Games announced today that it will be unveiling a new website designed to provide players of the developer's games extra incentives to keep playing. On April 15th, PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers are invited to register their PSN ID or gamertag with www.rockstargames.com/socialclub, which enables the site to track every aspect of your adventures in Liberty City as well as future Rockstar titles.

Going beyond Achievement points and PSN Awards, the Rockstar Social Club will offer special competitions and rewards for those who distinguish themselves in Liberty City. Offering performance-based awards for notable achievements (like being among the first ten individuals to complete the game), the Rockstar Social Club is meant to serve as a hub for measuring your comparative worth.

Activities teased within the press release that Rockstar Games sent out earlier today include:

LCPD Police Blotter: Similar to frightening real life websites, the LCPD Police Blotter provides a map of Liberty City with detailed statistics relating to criminal activity within the city such as the most dangerous hotspots and what kinds of weapons are used to commit crime.

The Story Gang: A leaderboard dedicated to those that finish the single-player story, this portion of the site will celebrate those that have run through the campaign the fastest. Rockstar has promised that the truly outstanding players in this category will be rewarded with special online widgets and merit badges.

The 100% Club: Tracks Social Club members that reach 100% completion of GTA IV. The first ten members to achieve this goal will be rewarded with a rare, commemorative "key to the city." Beyond the first ten, this section will highlight those that complete the game in record time as well as maintain an ever-growing list of record-breakers.

Hall of Fame: The catch-all awards section of the Rockstar Social Club, the Hall of Fame collects all of the data from the rest of the site, highlighting recent and historically epic successes. This is also the place that you'll be able to view your own documented achievements.

The Liberty City Marathon: Essentially, Liberty City Marathon records performances of the most [blank]. Stunt jumps, miles run, weapons fired and a variety of other "mosts" will be featured here.
