Gamers waiting to get their hands on Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation only have a few more hours to go before the game hits stores tomorrow. Namco Bandai sent out word that the game has shipped to retail stores today, and will cost $59.99; the limited edition package complete with Hori's Ace-Edge flight stick will go for $149.99.
Thrusting players into massive living battlefields, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation gives players all-new freedom and flexibility in completing each of the game's 15 single-player missions. Using the new Allied Support and Dynamic Operations Systems, players can call for land, sea and air reinforcements to tackle different objectives across far-flung locales as they take on screaming enemy fighter jets, ground-based anti-air emplacements and hulking naval vessels. Players will be able to purchase real-world aircraft and weaponry as they advance through the game including the F-15E Strike Eagle multipurpose aircraft, F-22A Raptor air superiority fighter and A-10A Thunderbolt "flying tank."

For the first time in the history of the franchise, Ace Combat 6 lets players engage in massive adversarial and team-based dogfights via Xbox LIVE¿. Up to 16 players can fight high above cities, deep within canyons and through the clouds as they take part in fast-paced strategic battles across four unique online game modes. Go for a high score in the winner-take-all Battle Royale Mode, assemble an online team to dominate the skies in Team Battle Mode, take turns protecting and assaulting strategic land, sea and air targets in Siege Battle Mode and team up with up to three wingmen to compete against the computer in Cooperative Mode. Players can track their progress through a series of online leader boards and also acquire special one of a kind titles by achieving special ranking milestones.
