In a press release today 2K Games announced the global release date for BioShock 2. The underwater sequel will ship for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 9th. BioShock 2's single-player quest has players assume the role of a Big Daddy, while the multiplayer serves as a prequel that casts players as test subjects for Sinclair Solutions' Plasmid tonics.

Tyler says: It wasn't even two days ago that I opined that BioShock 2 would slip past its projected release date. With this worldwide release date I'll go ahead and say I was wrong about this one. But that's ok, we still have yet to see if Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3, Dead Rising 2 and Mass Effect 2 will make their dates.

As far as BioShock 2 the game goes, I loved the combat in the first, and if the second gives me more of that, I'm on board. I would like to see some different enemy types though. All the baddies in Rapture of old just kinda ran straight at you. How about some ranged fighters that fight from way back, or some thugs that have weaknesses to specific Plasmids?
