2K Marin shows off concept art that lead to the final look of BioShock's first Big Daddy.
We know that 2K's
BioShock 2 sees you don the deep sea diving helmet of the "very first" Big Daddy. Today, we get to see exactly how 2K Marin's design department
fleshed out the look and feel of the character with a new set of concept art from the upcoming action/adventure game which releases later this year.

Luckily, my own father never owned a sadistic-looking arm-drill. Click for more art.
Between the first BioShock and the sequel, you've seen a lot of concept art for Big Daddies. The logic behind this concept art went beyond different designs and suit combinations.
The artists had to imagine what the very first Big Daddy would have on him -- this Big Daddy had to feel like he was a rough draft or a work-in-progress, an amalgam of Big Daddies to come. The first Big Daddy was a test case, and in making the perfect prototype, 2K Marin drafted many, many prototypes themselves.
Currently set for an early November release in North America,
BioShock 2 will feature
multiplayer gameplay which is being penned by Digital Extremes.
Bryn says: I went back and re-read Ryan's E3 preview of
BioShock 2 before writing up this news piece. I'm so very excited to play the game, and while the multiplayer might seem tacked on to some, the thought of 10-player deathmatch really appeals to me.
Do you think multiplayer will work well for this franchise?
