Infinity Ward assures they'll have more than two pieces of downloadable content for Modern Warfare 2.
In an effort to clear up confusion over Infinity Ward's downloadable content plans for
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Community Manager Robert Bowling
confirmed to MTV Multiplayer that the company is planning further post-release content. According to Bowling, the community feedback will shape what will come after the two map packs, saying "The fact that we confirmed at least two map packs doesn't mean there won't be more; honestly we plan on shaping our DLC based on community feedback from the full game, and first two DLC map packs."
Bowling's clarification comes from earlier speculation that the two timed-exclusive map packs -- confirmed in a conference call to investors -- would be the only DLC coming to Modern Warfare 2.
Tyler says:
Two map packs seem plenty to me, but what piques my curiosity is Bowling's mention that they'll take community feedback into account. Could we interpret that to mean that
Infinity Ward is planning new single-player chapters post-launch, and will base their design on our favorite levels? Could it be some type of Horde-like co-op mode? I hope so, because I'd like to see DLC beyond map-packs.
