Real Time Worlds and Microsoft Game Studios deliver next-gen action.
At Microsoft's X05 conference in Amsterdam, Dundee, Scotland-based developers Real Time Worlds announced that in conjunction with
Microsoft Game Studios, it will be producing the first party title
Crackdown.
Pushing the limits of the action-driving genre into the next generation,
Crackdown will introduce a three-dimensional persistent playground, cooperative online gameplay, and open-ended strategies and tactics into the fold. Gamers will be able to roam a virtual city with the freedom to explore or exploit the space to their satisfaction while fighting violent criminal organizations.
Founded in March 2002, Real Time Worlds is led by three industry veterans who have helped launch some of the world's most popular franchises, including
Grand Theft Auto,
Lemmings, and
Donkey Kong Country.
