Late last year Bungie and Microsoft revealed that gamers will get a chance to play the multiplayer beta of Halo 3 in 2007. At first Bungie provided a way for you to register for the beta test online. Now there are two more ways to get a chance to play Halo 3 early. The first new method involves some work. Xbox 360 owners who play three hours of Halo 2 multiplayer online via Xbox Live between February 1 and February 3 will be allowed to register at the official Halo 3 website. The first 13,333 gamers to register will receive an invitation to participate in the Halo 3 beta.
The second new way to get an invitation to the Halo 3 beta is to purchase Crackdown when it's released on February 20. Once the Halo 3 multiplayer beta begins this spring Crackdown owners will be able to use their Crackdown disc as a key to download the Halo 3 multiplayer beta from Xbox Live. There are a few obvious conditions; you have an Xbox 360 with a hard drive attached to it along with a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription and you must be at least 17 years-old. Then again, there's nothing stopping someone from letting their younger sibling take the controls for a while once they're in the beta. Don't worry, we won't tell.
