If you were wondering what Brian Fargo and his crew over at inXile were up to after the release of 2004's The Bard's Tale, well, here's the other half of the answer. Back in December, inXile announced that it was working on the console version of Line Rider for the Wii and DS, with a cryptic comment about how it's also developing a next-gen action/adventure game. It seems like HEI$T, which will be published by Codemasters, is the title in question.

From the description given in the press release, HEI$T seems to be a mix of the classic bank robbery thriller Heat with a dash of Starsky & Hutch. Taking place in 1969-era San Francisco, HEI$T puts you in the shoes of Johnny Sutton, a career criminal who teams up with Uncle Sal and the rest of his crew in order to pull off, well, heists. inXile claims that there won't just be banks, but Sutton and crew will also have chances to, according to the press release, knock off "bars, restaurants, strip clubs, armored cars, and more in order to acquire bigger and better tools needed to penetrate increasingly more difficult banks."

After each major bank robbery, players will also partake in the getaway chase, a la that fine Steve McQueen vehicle Bullitt. In the words of inXile Creative Director Maxx Kaufman, "We designed HEI$T so that players feel like a part of the best robberies and car chases from classic movies. Everything from the different types of jobs to pull and the reckless pursuits by the police through the streets of San Francisco, to the sarcastic banter back and forth between the members of the crew gives HEI$T the action and style of the great attitude and rock-driven films of the 60s." We'll follow up with more info as it's stolen.

That is quite the muzzle flash
