One week late is better than never.
Two days ago
Prey, the first-person shooter from
Human Head Studios and 3D Realms, went gold after spending numerous years in a long and storied development cycle. One week before that, a 5-level demo of
Prey for the Xbox 360 was promised to be downloadable on Xbox Live. The deadline for the demo to appear on Microsoft's online network came and went. George Broussard, the President of 3D Realms, announced that the demo was delayed saying, "The 360 demo will not appear on Marketplace tonight. I'm still waiting for specifics, but I'm being told that it's still in testing at Microsoft. From what I understand this isn't Microsoft's fault, and is more likely just an issue of timing." Now the wait is over and whatever issues that prevented the demo from being released have been resolved.
2K Games announced today that the
Prey Xbox 360 demo is ready for download on Xbox Live. It's a little late, but at least it's out before the game hits store shelves on July 11th so you'll have a chance to try it before you buy it.
