In Sega's official announcement regarding the casting decision, Scott A. Steinberg, vice president of marketing for Sega of America, says, "Lacey's experience and talent are the perfect match for the game's deeper storyline, delivering the powerful emotional connection that gamers have grown to expect from Sonic titles." Yet again, we were perplexed. Since when were the Sonic games meant to create a "powerful emotional connection"? Isn't Sonic all about speed and action?

Either way, it won't be long before we get a first-hand taste of what Sega has in mind. Sonic the Hedgehog comes out for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 this holiday season. In the meantime, you can check out our interview with Lacey.
