Online, the game plays like a 300-yard drive down the fairway. It's smooth, has almost all the cool offline game modes, and keeps the action moving. Chatting and talking trash as you move through a round is one of the better sports experiences on Xbox Live (assuming you like golf).

We could go on and on about this game. From the roster of PGA pros in here, to the venerable and exciting new courses (Bandon Dunes and the Prince Course at Kauai), there's a lot to get excited about. Perhaps most exciting, however, is the new true aiming system implemented for Tiger Woods 07. Gone is the cursor which allowed you to select, basically, the exact blade of grass you wanted your ball to land on. In its place is a new, wide, circle. The effect works as thus; if you hit the ball just right, it will land somewhere inside that circle (and then roll, spin, etc.). Mis-hit the ball, though, and it's likely off to bunkersville, six-inch rough, or a watery grave. This paints a much more accurate picture of what it's like to be a golfer, as they generally pick areas to land their ball and not precise spots.
If you're the least bit inclined to play a golf game this year, or are wondering if you need to upgrade Tiger Woods 06 to this version, then let us take away your confusion. Buy this game, hit the links, and enjoy what looks to be another dominating tour for Tiger on the next-gen scene.
