As sad as it may sound, there are still people out there who don't have broadband Internet access in their homes. Chances are, a number of them are also Xbox 360 owners. Maybe it's not available where they live, maybe they can't afford it, maybe they just don't know any better, but these poor, unconnected or slowly connected people are out of luck when it comes to enjoying what Xbox Live Arcade has to offer. Luckily for them, it looks like the powers that be have seen their plight and taken action.

Today Microsoft unveiled Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged Volume 1. This disc is a compilation of Xbox Live Arcade titles that will be sold in retail stores worldwide. Included with the disc are a one-month Xbox Live Gold subscription and demos of Uno, Marble Blast Ultra and Feeding Frenzy. The games featured in this volume are Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, Wik & The Fable of Souls, Outpost Kaloki X, Bejeweled 2 Deluxe, Hardwood Backgammon and Texas Hold 'em.

Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged Volume 1 is due to come out on September 5 of this year.
