As part of this week's pre-E3 whirlwind of announcements and coverage, Sega announced that it will be publishing Condemned 2: Bloodshot, the sequel to Monolith's 360 adventure featuring murderous hobos and bizarre occultism.

Accompanied by a Max Payne-level of so-noir-it's-not voice over, the main character will once again be Ethan Thomas. "The disturbing events from Ethan's past have left him a broken man -- a desperate burnout drifting aimlessly through society in an inexplicable decline." Called back to duty to help his former colleagues, the Serial Crimes Unit, it looks like the game might explain some of the strangeness that occurred in Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Sega is touting an "all-new fighting system" for Bloodshot, and although we spotted the traditional taser and fisticuffs, we also witnessed Ethan arm locking someone -- and then breaking that arm. Condemned's combat system had a lot of promise, so the offerings of "defensive and offensive combo chains, as well as grapples and holds" in the new combat system are exciting. In addition, the forensic system returns, but with more options. Hopefully, this will result in a system that's a bit more challenging than the first game's.
