Hasle: The focus of our combat engine is to support the single goal of "The Most Visceral, In-Your-Face, FPS Combat System." The second goal based off of the first is to "Evolve and Expand Your Combat Experience." Ethan will rely heavily on his fists throughout the game!GameSpy: Condemned is the first real horror franchise from the 360. What was the team particularly satisfied with from the first game that they're focused on bringing into Bloodshot?
Hasle: Smack someone in the face and watch them recoil. We loved that from day one and we knew never to stray from that core experience, that awesome feeling, when you get a good hit in and watch the enemy recoil, staggering about. Everything we have done with Condemned 2: Bloodshot has been to build off of and grow that single core experience.
GameSpy: Conversely, what parts of Condemned aren't likely to make it past the proverbial cutting room floor?
Hasle: The forensic system of Condemned: Criminal Origins, no doubt... We knew that we weren't happy with it but when you have 14 months to create a launch title and are getting final hardware about 1 month before you go into final certification, you know that there are going to be certain sacrifices you'll have to make -- and we wanted to stay true to the core combat experience that we had created -- so our focus really had to stay there.
